Dentures Services: Exceptional Custom Dental Solutions

Dentures services are defined as removable teeth and replacements for lost natural teeth. They are natural-looking, beautiful teeth with a comfortable fit and an easy after-care regimen. Chagger Dental provides services for both partial and complete Dentures, depending on your treatment plan.

Your Dentures will be custom and made in a dental laboratory using molds of your mouth to ensure a comfortable and secure fit. Chagger Dental will help you choose which Dentures services are best suited for your needs.

Immediate Full Denture

The insertion of this type of denture is done immediately after the removal of the remaining teeth. The dentist measures your jaw and makes models of it during your previous visit. Of course, one of the benefits of immediate dentures is replacing missing teeth immediately without having to live with missing teeth for a long period of time.

However, the problem with immediate full denture is the fact that they require realignment several months after their insertion. This is due to the fact that the bone supporting the teeth reshapes while healing takes place.

Conventional Full Denture

This type of denture is usually required after the removal of any decayed remaining teeth and healing of the tissues has taken place. The healing of gum tissues after tooth removal can take several months. To avoid future complications the gum tissues should be completely healed prior to introduction to false teeth in the mouth. As a result, patients requiring tooth removal or root canals prior to receiving dentures services will need to prepare for the fact that they will have to live without teeth during the healing period.

Partial Denture

This type of denture often rests on a metal framework which is attached to the natural teeth. In some instances, crowns have to be placed on some of the natural teeth to anchor the denture. Partial dentures services are usually a good alternative to bridges.

How Do Dentures Work?

Full dentures means a full set of teeth and gums, upper dentures and lower jaw dentures. When full dentures are required a flesh-colored acrylic base is fit over the gums. The base of the denture on the upper jaw covers the palate (roof of the mouth), while the base of the denture found on the lower jaw has a horseshoe shape to accommodate the tongue.

How Long Does it Take to Get Used to Dentures?

Dentures can feel uncomfortable or awkward at first after being inserted. Activities such as eating and talking may require practice. It is common to have a loose or bulky feeling while your cheek muscles and your tongue learn to hold the dentures in place. You may also notice an increase in saliva, and it may feel like your tongue doesn’t have enough room. If you experience any irritation, speak to your dentist immediately. There are dentures adhesive that can help combat discomfort. No need to search for a denture clinic, our teams at Chagger Dental are fully equipped with specialists in all fields of oral health and are waiting to assist you with your immediate denture needs.

How Long Do Dentures Last?

At some point, your dentures will have to be remade, relined or rebased because of normal wear. Rebasing is the process of making a new base while keeping the existing denture teeth. Our mouths often change as we age. These changes make your dentures become loose making it difficult to chew. The changes also irritate the gums. See you dentist at least once every year for a checkup. If re-fittings seems a little daunting speak to your Chagger dentist to see if dental implants may be the right treatment plan for you.

Tips on How to Take Care of Your Dentures

  • Whenever you handle dentures, ensure that you stand over a basin of water or folded towel as dentures are delicate and can break if they are dropped.
  • Place your dentures in plain water or a denture cleanser soaking solution whenever you are not wearing them to prevent them from drying out. Avoid using hot water as this can make them warp.
  • Brush your dentures on a daily basis to remove food deposits and plaque and to also prevent staining of the dentures. Even though an ultrasonic cleaner can be used to care for your completed dentures, it shouldn’t replace a thorough daily brushing.
  • Ensure that you brush your gums, palate, and tongue every morning using a soft bristled brush before inserting your dentures. This encourages circulation in your tissues and help removes plaque.
  • Visit your dentist in case your dentures chip, break, loosen or crack. Avoid adjusting dentures by yourself as this can cause damage beyond repair.

Upper and lower dentures, implants, or dentures on implants, people who wear dentures report feeling more confident and happy to have their smile restored. Let us help you decide which treatment plan is best for your smile. Call Chagger Dental today.
